From October 21, 2022 to January 31, 2023, the Bech Art Gallery in Schorndorf is presenting the exhibition “The Sound of Colors” by Scharein in new exhibition rooms.
Welcome to the Open Studio on 17. and 18. September 17 2022 at Studio Scharein.
After two long years of work, Scharein has finished his so-called “Corona Cycle”. A series of extraordinary, very colour-intensive, exciting works have been created around the theme of complementary contrasts. Take a look and see for yourself!
On January 27, 2022, kunsthalle messmer awarded the renowned art prize in the field of concrete-constructive art for the 6th time.
Scharein was awarded 5th place for his work “Hommage to (Theo) van Doesburg”.
Welcome to an exciting studio insight at the end of this turbulent year!
In this video Scharein explains the structure of the third work of the trilogy trilogy “On the Power of Color”. And shows a big surprise in the process. Just take a look!
In this short video, Scharein introduces his idea of the trilogy on the “Power of Colour” (german language). In each work he wants to elaborate the various complementary contrasts in a different primary form (rectangle, triangle, circle).
The three works each have identical dimensions: 122 cm high x 244 cm wide.
In this video Scharein tells something about the genesis of his multi-part work “Bewegte Ruhe”.
Originally, three individual picture panels were created in 2019. Only over the course of the next few months did the overall composition develop.
Scharein presents his paintings from the current work cycle in the studio. Furthermore, the examination of the complimentary contrast is the focus of his daily work. We see Scharein and the pictures in their “working state” in the middle of the process.
Scharein presents his work “Paradoxon” from 2021 in this video. The theme of the image are the three major complimentary contrasts: red-green, orange-blue and yellow-violet. The result is an extraordinarily dynamic work with really special luminosity.
Scharein uses four works to explain various compositions, color gradients and issues for future work.
