Award for Scharein at the international André Evard Prize 2022
The kunsthalle messmer awarded the prestigious art prize in the field of concrete-constructive art for the 6th time on January 27, 2022.
Scharein was awarded 5th place for his work "Homage to (Theo) van Doesburg".
More than 500 artists from 47 different countries had applied for this year's prize. In the exhibition, 100 works selected by a jury of experts were presented at an international level.
The prize is dedicated to one of the founding fathers of concrete-constructivist art, the Swiss artist André Evard (1876-1972). From 1913 onwards, Evard dealt with geometric abstractions in his painting and was thus one of the first non-figurative artists in Europe.
