Award for Scharein at the international André Evard Prize 2022
On January 27, 2022, kunsthalle messmer awarded the renowned art prize in the field of concrete-constructive art for the 6th time.
Scharein was awarded 5th place for his work “Hommage to (Theo) van Doesburg“.
Over 500 artists from 47 different countries applied for this year’s prize. In the exhibition, 100 works selected by a jury of experts were presented at an international level.
The prize is dedicated to one of the forefathers of concrete-constructivist art, the Swiss artist André Evard (1876-1972). From 1913 Evard’s paintings were concerned with geometric abstractions abstractions and was thus one of the first non-figurative artists in artists in Europe.
